Community Controllers

Community Controllers is a project where you, whether a casual or competitive player, have the opportunity to turn your idea of the perfect controller into reality.

Objective

Every year, more and more controllers with different sizes, components, and layouts are created. However, there’s always someone unsatisfied with the options available on the market.

For this reason, we decided to start a project to help these people! We also want to emphasize that this project's controllers are not limited solely to fighting games. Let your imagination flow and create the ideal controller for the genre you prefer!

Moreover, we stress that this is not a project exclusively focused on competitive gaming. Rules created by communities for competitive gaming and their specific rules do not apply to the creative process.

All controllers approved by this project will be open-source, meaning they’ll be available online for anyone to modify, sell, or assemble on their own!

Requirements for Application

To evaluate your idea, it must meet the following minimum requirements for application:

1) Controller Name

2) Genre / Game Focus

3) Be an original idea

The controller should not be a reimagining of something that already exists. For example, a Flatbox with a slightly different layout than the original model and without any extra function will not be accepted.

4) Controller Sketch

To assess the project's feasibility, we need the creator to provide a simple sketch of the controller. This sketch can be a drawing on paper, MS Paint, or any other tool you feel comfortable using. It should also include the intended dimensions for the controller (Height, Width, and Length).

We will not accept ideas submitted only in writing without an accompanying sketch.

Rewards

If your project is approved, we will send you the finished controller from your idea free of charge. The controller board (if applicable) will also feature the creator’s signature and a special identifier on our GitHub. We want to preserve and catalog everything that comes out of this project!

Additionally, each person that has a project approved in the Second Phase will receive a commission on every sale of the designed controller on our European and Brazilian storefronts.
